New fairy tale for Middle Schoolers that older readers can enjoy too. There are two stories unfolding, one is the Never After book series and the other involves Filomena (a 12 year old who is infatuated with the Never After series). Filomena is a relatable character to pretty much everyone is some way or another. She is adopted, feels like an outsider, reads, and has protective parents, but she is most of all excited to be able to walk herself to the book store on opening day of the release of the most anticipated book of the year (and her life). Then she discovers there is no book and she is being followed.
How do these events tie together? How does the series and Filomena tie together? Is there a 13th book?
An interesting first impression that I think middle schoolers, parents and even other age groups will enjoy for an escape into fantasy land.
