The beginning of "Never After" brings me back to my childhood of anxiously waiting for the next Harry Potter book. At the beginning of this story though, things go wrong and we find out that the next book that the MC is waiting for isn't going to be released. It's a cute start, but not really believable considering that with the internet something like this wouldn't happen.
And yet, I want to see what happens. Fairy tale retellings and stories inspired by them are often fun reads, so I look forward to seeing what De La Cruz will bring with this story.
