This book was such a sweet story and I loved how likable and real the characters were. Greer's inner dialogue is hilarious and her character was definitely a relatable one for pretty much anyone who's ever been a teenage girl in high school - even if you didn't have boobs bigger than your head, there's always something you're insecure about. I definitely had some issues with it though. First, I get that the point of the book was that Greer struggles with being ~advanced~ in the chest area, but she spends the grand majority of her time thinking/talking about them. I get that when you're insecure about something you tend to focus more on it but it got really repetitive. If the point was to make me want Maude and Mavis to be chopped off just so the poor girl could focus on literally anything else, then it worked lol. The other issue for me was Greer's mom. I understand that they weren't supposed to be a perfect mom/daughter duo, but she obviously realized the pain Greer was going through and the issues she had with her image and seemed to just ignore them. You'd think if your daughter cried just asking for a special sports bra you'd maybe ask if she was ok or talk to her about it at least? It was just strange because it seemed she cared enough to buy the sports bra, continue asking to buy new clothes, etc. but not enough to make sure her daughter was ok mentally and emotionally? I was just so frustrated with how much of Greer's life could have been made less miserable if her mom just tried to help. We saw the sheer joy Greer felt when the fashion teacher made her a jersey that fit, could you imagine what her life would have been like if all of her clothes fit how she wanted them to??
Despite this, the writing was so enjoyable and the overall story and characters where so real and great. I finished the book in one sitting and I'd definitely recommend it to others.
