I loved reading MY EYES ARE UP HERE by Laura Zimmermann this past week! One of my favorite reads last year was WE ARE THE PERFECT GIRL by Ariel Kaplan, and this one reminded me of it so much with the strong voice and humor! The focus on body image was very realistic for the high school setting and I liked that the main character was a sophomore as a lot of YA is usually older. Greer connects with her volleyball teammates, which I loved as I was part of a tight-knit basketball team in high school. And the love interest Jackson was sweet and quirky. The chapters were pretty short so I flew through it. A solid debut from Laura Zimmermann—I look forward to reading more books from her in the future!
