The structure and formulation is well done. I had an easy time reading the beginning. What I had an issue with is how much the main protagonist talks about her body in a negative way. I quickly got through the first 90 pages when I realized that the remainder of the book was going to do much of the same. Being a Young Adult contemporary novel, I could also guess where the story line was headed. So, I stopped reading, flipped to the last few pages and was met with a conclusion that was spot on with my thinking. We know from the title and synopsis that Greer is focused on the size of her chest. However, she is HYPER focused on the size in such a way that all the metaphors and insults she gives herself make it hard to continue. I would have a hard time actually recommending this book to a teen in fear of them finding new ways to look at themselves negatively.
