MY EYES ARE UP HERE is an emotional rollercoaster that will have you laughing one minute and drowning your sorrows in a tub of ice cream the next. Was that just me? Oh, okay.

Being the extremely empathetic person that I am, I loved this story. More importantly, I loved the leading lady, Greer Walsh.

Greer is navigating the challenges of being a teenage girl in high school. Her two biggest challenges are Maude and Mavis (aka her extremely big boobs). While I had the exact opposite problem in high school, I couldn’t help but relate to her story — her identity crisis, her boy problems, all of it!

Laura Zimmermann’s words are a time capsule full of teenage angst. What I loved most about MY EYES ARE UP HERE was the brutal honesty. Being a teenager is hard. It’s an extremely emotional and confusing time, and I think that Zimmermann perfectly depicted that.

I very happily give MY EYES ARE UP HERE 5 stars.
