My Eyes Are Up Here sneaks up on you, entirely in a good way. I was not sold on the concept, but Greer won me over. She is uncomfortable and awkward, but despite her self esteem issues, Greer present in her own life. Greer has made accommodations for what she sees is a liability, though she does not try to make herself completely invisible. I look forward to reading the rest of this YA novel and feel that there are many in the target audience who will be able to relate to Greer's insecurities.
