You can tell from the synopsis that this is going to be a quirky coming-of-age story. Middle school and high school are a time when it feels like everyone can see your insecurities just as clearly as if you printed them on your t-shirt. For someone who is self-conscious, like Greer, making new friends is extremely difficult. Right from the beginning, Jackson immediately accepts Greer, which I did not expect to happen quite so soon.
