I was lucky enough to win a copy of Murder Mile from Bookish First in exchange for an honest review. Murder Mile is the fourth entry in Lynda La Plante’s Tennison series, which follows detective Jane Tennison. It’s set in England in the 1970’s.

In Murder Mile, Jane Tennison is a newly minted Detective Sargent. She is trying to get a feel for her new authority, but it’s proving difficult because she is a woman. This novel centers around a series of high profile murders during The Winter of Discontent.

Apparently Jane Tennison is a very popular character from La Plante’s Prime Suspect series. The Tennison series follows Jane’s early years on the force. I’ll be honest and say that this is the first Tennison novel I have read. I was apprehensive that I would be lost because of this. I was not lost ot confused. If anything, this book made me want to hurry up and read the other books in the series. Overall, this was a satisfying murder mystery. I will be reading more from Lynda La Plante for sure!
