I love the character of Jane Tennison. La Plante does a great job writing about how things were in the 70's and how Jane struggles in her career as a women detective.
Jane is on patrol when her and her partner discover a murdered woman. It continues at a nice pace with several twists. Without giving any thing away I will just say that I liked the surprise ending. Another good detective mystery from La Plante.
