With so many mystery novels existing out there in the world, it's hard to make one stand out right from the start. Still, I feel like Murder Mile managed to do a solid job of it. Right away we know a bit about the investigator, what makes her different, as well as the people in her life that may make the series more memorable. We don't know much about the case yet, other than the murder bit, but I'm sure that'd be a steadily unraveling case (actually, based on the title I'd guess it'll be a series of cases, but I could be wrong). Regardless, I can't wait to see how this one unfolds and then resolves itself.
