A bit bland

The opening of this murder mystery reads a bit flat, but I suppose the more clinical approach to action may be part of the genre, which isn't my normal type of book. I didn't like the huge list of acronyms before the story, it makes me feel like reading this would be more work than it was worth. If they're critical to understand, work them into the writing itself. If not, don't give me an infodump before I've even read a sentence.
