The typical scam of pretending to be a grandchild in trouble and in need of money to get out of jail is where I think this book is going, but it's not going there very fast.
Loretta, 71 and a widow who plays tennis, either isn't very bright or she's starting to lose it. Too young to fit the stereotype.
The training of a scam artist chapters are interspersed with her story so you know she will be the victim of the scam if the book ever gets off the glacial pace.
