Thrilling
When I first read the title, I couldn't help thinking about Tangled, and how Rapunzel's (witch) mother sings that song about Mother knowing best. So needless to say, I was intrigued. But although this book was completely different than what I envisioned, it was thought-provoking and beautifully written. I enjoyed thinking about the ethics of genetic editing and how far is too far. It made me question about if it is right to eliminate disease. In class I learned that blood transfusions are designed in such a way that the donor and recipient are not perfect matches. It is done this way to facilitate an immune response to kill foreign cells. So it brings up the question is no disease good? Or do we need it?
