Hmmm how to rate this one?
I stumbled across this scrolling through here! 100% judged it on its title and cover. Being a HUGE disney fan i only assumed it was an adaptation of Tangled.
It was not.
Which was ok! Come to find out its a sci-fi psychological thriller which is ALSO my favorite genre!
Having absolutely loved "The One" by John Marrs (which if you have not read YOU NEED DO) I was thrilled to come across a similar story line:
Claire Abrams has a mitochondrial defect in her genes that killed her first born....desperate for a second chance at motherhood she finds Dr. Robert Nash (and his assistant Jillian Hendricks) a Harvard graduate specialling in fertility and studying embryonic mutations illegally giving Claire hope to create the perfect healthy child using 3 different parents! "The Frankenbaby"
I really enjoyed this and blew through it in 2 days. But found the story line to lack originality as id hoped for. It was quite predictable which could be blamed on my reading SO many of these thrillers.
If you like The One or Dark Matter Blake Crouch i think youll enjoy this one.
P.s. if this ever became a movie and they dont cast Bryce Dallas Howard as Jillian ....i would be mad. She legit IS the description and personality!
