Wow! This book starts right in with the meat of the plot before going back and forth between the past and present. Chapters are short and toggle between Claire, Abby and Jillian’s narratives. “Mother Knows Best” is a unique, psychological, medical thriller reminiscent of author Robin Cook’s novels (which I loved several years ago). This book does have some scientific jargon in it touching on DNA and fertility, but I feel smarter having read it. I Googled about some of the DNA info and low and behold, this is loosely based on a real medical breakthrough. (I’ll let you find out what when you read the book!) I couldn’t put this book down! As a mother, I was able to relate to the situation at hand and it made my heart break at times. Overall, I would recommend this book and enjoyed it very much!
