This story has an interesting setup. We follow Claire, Jillian and Abby - Claire is the mother who lost one child and will do anything to have a healthy baby the next time, even if it means crossing legal and ethical boundaries. Jillian is brilliant but also obsessive and manipulative - her role in Claire's life becoming more than Claire bargained for. Abby is Claire's daughter who is finding out that there is much more to her mother than she ever knew.

I really actually liked the ethical dilemma aspect of this story. I really enjoyed various debates that the characters had, each making valid points. It prompts you to think about your own stance on the issue and where the gray areas are.

The book was an easy and fast read.

What I didn't love was that it was all a bit too predictable, some of the plot points seemed illogical and it all ended tied up a bit too conveniently. While I thought Abby's POV was probably necessary for the explanations of what she was doing, I can't say I enjoyed reading her parts. It was just a little disjointed going from reading Jillian's explicit descriptions of Dr. Nash to Abby talking about her 5th grade life.

This book was fine, not a favorite, but it was an easy quick read.
