I would give this book a 3.5. It was a good book. Easy to read and held my interest. The ending was predictable. I would not say it is a Thriller but Fiction. The science part of the book was interesting and to see how far a mother would go to protect and create a child.
As a Mother you would do anything to make sure your child is safe and that is exactly what the Claire did.
Claire's first child dies of a disease that she passed onto him through DNA. Her husband and her are trying to have another child but Claire is concerned that the disease will be passed along to her next child. She seeks out a doctor who can take away the "bad" DNA and put in another person's "good" DNA. Her husband, Ethan, thinks that they are just going to a fertility doctor and is unaware of the experiment. The story unfolds from there and is quiet interest.
