This book was interesting. I enjoyed many aspects of it, the suspense, the mystery, to name a few, and I did enjoy reading about Michael and Claire. Their characters had a good voice and I really want to dive deeper into their secrets and lives.
The only issue I had with the first two chapters was their daughter, which I didn't expect. She's supposed to be this ten-year-old, but her voice is one of an older child in their teens. Her speech, and her actions, are too mature--in my opinion--and it makes the story seem a bit unrealistic in nature. Don't really know how I feel about her character, she seems really bratty and privileged, but I can understand some of her hidden sadness by her mother's actions in her life.
All-in-all, a solid couple of chapters, but I'm unsure how I feel about the daughter.
