Flawless first chapters, pulled me in immediately

The cover reminds me a bit of rapunzel and gives the impression that this is a coming-of-age novel about a pushy mom. After reading the first few pages I understand it’s significance, but at a book store the cover could lead me to pass over this book. The book summary caught my interest right away because of the sci-fi aspect that isn’t so far from modern reality. The first two chapters drop the reader right into the action and demonstrate solid character-building as well as plot development. I can’t wait to read the rest of this book!
