From just the first chapter I can tell this is going to be a gorgeous book. The descriptions and prose are dark and poetic. The way Wilson writes pulls you in immediately, even when talking about the most mundane things. A very real, engrossing picture is painted that grabs on and doesn't let go. It helps that the story is timely and unique. In our dangerous yet PC world, a story of violence brought on by the artistic creation of a stranger seems all too plausible. But even more fascinating is the aftermath, how it changes the lives of those involved, and how it comes back to haunt the main character so many years later. The author writes carefully and consciously about these things and it makes the story seem even more possible. I cannot wait to dive deeper into this one and see where it takes me.
