I am only giving a 3 star rating to Missing Isaac because there were only a few pages provided, and not enough of the story was offered to form an honest opinion. A tragic accident on a cotton farm leaves one boy fatherless, but not much more than that is known. I liked the opening where a grandson and his grandfather were playing checkers, enjoying each other’s company. The boy is wearing an oversized flannel because his dad had given it to him; the boy clearly respects and loves his dad. A glimpse was provided of this loving family, but in an instant their lives were changed forever. Where this story will go is anyone’s guess. Perhaps the accident will have repercussions affecting the entire community.
