The review for this book makes it sound like an amazing book. This is just my type of story. Based in 1962 , a time I remember well. I lived in the city but visited my Grandma and Grandpa in the country. The kids now a days have no idea what it was like in the sixties. The time is portrayed very very well. There was a big difference from the big city and the small towns. And a big difference too on how people of color were treated. In kindergarten my best friend was a black girl. We were really close and called ourselves the cookies. She was the chocolate cookie and I was the vanilla cookie. And I'm not very good with reviews. I think you ask too much. I don't like people to tell me too much about a book . I want to read it for myself. So of course I don't want to tell others too much either.t.v.
