I received this book from bookishfirst and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. The first page grabbed me and didn’t let go until the conclusion. The storyline was wonderful, reminiscent of The Help, To Kill a Mockingbird, or The Secret Life of Bees. I loved how the characters were well written. From the first time we meet Pete through the years we watch him grow, we get his story and get to see how he matures. Even though he loses his father at an early age, he stands by the teachings he received from his father and shows a strong, decent personality. Watching his relationships grow and evolve was the best part of this book.

Usually I am not a fan of books that skip large periods of time and switch between POV, but it really worked for this book.
