When I saw the cover, I thought what a lovely scene. Then reading about the book, I realized an intensely emotional story would be told within the pages. A time period of social, family, and economical upheaval, this book will bring memories to the forefront I have longed to forget; memories of a shameful period in America's past. A time when a friend was against a friend, siblings against siblings, parents against children, and so on, as we traveled a road to equality for our fellow man.
