The writing style's intriguing, dropping slight hints throughout the text about the real reason for the blackbird cafe, and the family history behind it. Very unique story telling, I love the blackbird concept along with the bird nerds that try their best to find away to get a photograph of these one of kind bird. The pie doesn't actually have birds cooked into it, it's fruit. Beautiful trees weave there way into the story with the strange gifts the pie gives people when they eat a piece. The power of nature and how we connect with it demonstrates healing qualities hidden by most people. Wonderful story, excellent writing style, funny at times, this is a great feel good read.
