I loved this book that I received from BookishFirst. The book is about so much - family, forgiveness, a little romance, a little magic. Anna Kate grew up away from Wicklow, her mom's hometown. She does get to know her grandma Zee who shares with her the history of her family - The keepers of the blackbirds. They are healers. Anna Kate must stay and run the cafe for two months and then she can fulfill the promise she made to her mom - to go to medical school. Everyone but Anna Kate knows she should stay in Wicklow, as Wicklow has a way of pulling you in. Girls always come home to Wicklow. Anna Kate's presence starts quite the gossip since her father died before anyone knew she was conceived. Anna Kate meets Natalie before she knows that Natalie is her Aunt - an Aunt only 3 - 4 years older than Anna Kate. The dynamics with that side needs healing, on both sides.
