I thought the description of this book was good but then I read the first 60 pages and was hooked.
I love reading books that contain magical elements as well as humor and this book appears to have it in spades. Anna Kate Callow gives all the appearances of your normal mid-twenty something recent college grad. She just wants to enjoy a little break before heading on the med school but fate had other plans. Her beloved grandmother passed away and now she finds herself in the school town of Wicklow, Alabama. The bit of backstory that is given in the first few pages is the perfect amount of foreshadowing to get my attention and make me super stoked to read the whole book.
I thought the cover was pretty eye catching with it's picture of a delicious pie. The plot seems to be refreshing an right in line with something similar to Alice Hoffman's Practical Magic.
