Raj doesn’t feel quite at home at his tennis club. The club chooses members to allow to join. Raj is on the selection committee. He’s noticed that, other than his family, almost everyone is white. He feels uncomfortable. He’d like to make the club feel more inclusive. When his committee starts interviewing, there is only one non-white family. After listening to insensitive comments for years, Raj is on edge himself. But he somehow, accidentally slips and says something racist himself. He is sickened. He rushes to apologize after the interview but misses the couple leaving. When he goes back to the other committee members, they tell him he should be let go for his comment. Raj is furious, he feels like he’s one of the few people there who doesn’t make inappropriate comments.
