This book tells me absolutely everything there is to know about current values for "Magic: the Gathering Cards." There are over 500 full-color pages here, and most of them are chock-full of charts listing prices for cards, giving values for both "foil" and "non-foil" versions of cards. As you might imagine, foil versions are much more valuable. I imagine they're both rarer and more iridescent.

Most of the cards are decorated with paintings, and a single series of cards will have paintings by a variety of fantasy artists. A lot of the art probably qualifies as kitsch, but one or two of the artists is a bit more memorable, I think. An interesting fantasy forest is by an artist named Mark Zug, and one card that uses the scene is worth $500, and another is worth $1,000.

Most cards are of minimal value, under a dollar, it appears. But money surely doesn't matter to the true collector of magic cards!
