Magic for liars is a perfect mix of detective novel and magical academia.

Non-magical Ivy must put aside her lingering jealously, get closer to her sister, and put her skills to the test if she wants to take her career to the next level.
Ivy’s relationship with her sister is so well written. I could feel their strain to move closer despite past trauma, their lingering secrets, and their deeply seeded sibling love all at the same time. Their relationship also clearly has an effect on the investigation.
