Audiobook: So I really thought the premise was interesting so I figured I would have a go of it. Ivy Gamble the P.I. hired to solve the murder had tenacies that reminded me alot of another P.I. called Jessica Jones (from Marvel). However, Ivy as a whole I found to be such a mess and someone I couldn't relate to. The author reminds us so many times how Ivy is not magic. We get it already.

As a whole, the plot had many layers to it, especially the dynamic between Tabitha and Ivy twin sisters. Tabitha teaches at the school where the murder happen. That dynamic along with other storylines almost makes you forget the original reason why Ivy is there in the first place.

While magic is interesting this story is anything but. The reveal left me slightly disappointed as well. The writing itself is not too bad as I thought it flowed nicely, just the story lacked.

In sum so much potential but the magic was just not there.
