Ivy Gamble, private investigator, is not magical, and that's the way she wants it. Her sister Tabitha, on the other hand, is a magically-gifted professor. When a faculty member is gruesomely murdered at Tabitha's academy, Ivy is hired to solve the crime. Along the way, magic helps and hinders the investigation as Ivy learns more about herself and her abilities.

This book is a great book of escapism! The magic, and especially the vocabulary used to describe magic, created by Sarah Gailey was interesting and unique. The novel kept me entertained and wanting to turn pages. I really liked this version of magic and enjoyed trying to solve the mystery before Ivy. While I don't think the plot line will stick around with me, I enjoyed my time reading this one!
