This feels like a mix of the Jessica Jones TV series (something about the vibe the female PI character gives off), Magicians (the setting & world building feels somewhat similar), and McGuire's own October Daye books. So far, I'm liking it better than her October Daye series, but it's too early to tell. It's definitely for a more mature audience than her Wayward Children series.
