Jade is excited to get away on the trip of a lifetime: a semester abroad, traveling the world on a cruise ship. It's not only a chance to learn, but to escape the two people who broke her heart: her ex-boyfriend Silas, and his new girlfriend/Jade's former best friend, Lainey.

But when Jade sees the couple boarding the ship, her heart is broken all over again, and her obsession with finding out why they betrayed her so badly grows stronger, until a shocking murder rocks the cruise. And as more of Jade's new friends start dying, she must race to find out who's behind the murders before she ends up dead too.

Full disclaimer--I'm not much into YA these days. I'm not exactly what we'd call the target audience, but after reading an excerpt, I had to read more. Author Diana Urban has written a crafty thriller with killer (pardon the pun) banter, a cute cast, and satisfying twists and turns. Just when you think you know what direction this is heading, Urban takes you on a 180. And making the setting more in the college bracket than a high school one makes this feel a little less YA for me. I'm also hoping the ARC cover remains for the final copy, because it captures this premise perfectly.

Thanks to BookishFirst and Penguin Teen/Razorbill for providing an advance copy of this book to read in exchange for a review.
