I absolutely LOVED this story. Everything from the cover graphic to the story to the characters to the ending - was beautifully done.
I was hooked from the first page and stayed up til late last night finishing the book I had just started in the afternoon.
I've always loved stories about the Titanic so I enjoyed reading Ms. Lee's telling of the Titanic and the graphics in the front part of the book were helpful in imagining the settings.
The twins - Valora and Jamie are both captivating characters. I loved Valora's grit. I also liked the parts where Jamie's softer side shone through. The other characters fit in seamlessly into the storyline.
I do not know much about Chinese culture so I enjoyed Ba's stories and teachings.
The ending was not what I expected and I loved it. It's so hard to find a book with an ending that isn't easy to figure out about 50 pages beforehand.
Great storyline and I'd love to see end characters' storyline continue.
