Good Historical Fiction!
I really enjoyed this book. I’ve always been fascinated by the story of the Titantic and this was from a viewpoint of passengers that I hadn’t heard much about previously.
The story is really well crafted, and to be honest, I wasn’t expecting the ending the way that it played out. I found the characters to be very relatable and was pulled in to the story as they moved around on the ship and planned their future once they arrived in America.
I also enjoyed the acrobatics that the siblings performed - that part of their backstory was interesting and something that created fun mental visuals. The book also doesn’t shy away from the class system, just adding an extra nuance because of the Chinese heritage of the characters and the overall small representation compared to the rest of the passengers.
I am a fan of good historical fiction story - and this is definitely one of them!
