Beautiful story highlighting sibling relationships
This is a beautiful story of sibling relationships, fighting prejudices, and unlikely friendships. While stories of the Titanic can commonly be found, a story of the Titanic from the point of view of a British-Chinese girl has never been told. Valora's story is one that will stay long with you upon reaching the end, and she's a character that you will view as a friend.
Valor's had spunk, sass, and wit and was an absolutely magnificent point of view character. She reminded me a lot of myself and Jamie reminded me of my sister. I loved how deep Lee dove into the relationships between siblings, and I think it brought some semblance of healing to the current frayed relationship between my sister and me. Family relationships (especially siblings) are something I think we need more stories about! Highly recommend to those who love historical fiction and family stories. An absolutely amazing read.
