Well written and excellent hook into what appears to be a great book.

I am very much hooked by the beginning of this book. The main character is well drawn, a feisty young Chinese woman with spunk, talent, and determination. Already this young acrobat has managed to make her way aboard the Titanic using ingenuity, acrobatic skill, and cunning. Next she found her brother, a legally ticketed passenger, and informed him that the co-owner of the Ringling Brothers Circus was onboard. This was their chance to get the job they had always dreamed of— circus acrobats. Finally, she managed to con a steward into giving her a second class room.

One fascinating sidelight that I am anxious to see how it works out in the book is the dark shadow of anti-Chinese bigotry. A hint as to the outcome is that all but one of the Chinese passengers onboard the Titanic survived.

I anxiously await my chance to read this book.
