I've always been intrigued by movies and novels that take place during a historical event. Considering the time period this novel is set in there weren't many records about the lower class/nonwhite attendees on the ship so it would be fascinating to read the Titanic sinking from an unseen perspective.
In addition, the writing and cover both drew me in immediately. The author has a smooth and natural tone while describing the first time Valora sees the ship. I was drawn in as the story progressed and cannot wait to read more about it!
