The interesting thing about this book is that the length betrays the basic premise of minimalism. The author gives you everything you need to know in the prologue and first few chapters. Don’t amass objects because you’re lonely, bored, depressed or unfulfilled. Throw out junk you don’t need. Value time with friends and family over the quantity of stuff you can acquire. Minimalism.

Yet, the book continues on. Pages and pages all devoted to preaching less is better.

Also, this could have been an eBook. Isn’t that the whole point? I greatly appreciate my free copy from the publisher, but why did it have to be a physical copy?

This book has excellent facts and tips, and I agree with a lot of it. After reading it, I immediately threw out a bunch toiletries and medicines that I don’t use, that cost less than twenty dollars, and that can be replaced within 20 minutes of my house. Do I plan to pack up my house as if I’m moving? No, that’s too extreme.
