I've been a fan of Millburn and Nicodemus since watching their documentary Minimalism back in 2016. I guess I'd call myself a closet minimalist - I fully embrace the ideals and principles of minimalism, but sometimes struggle with letting go of things from the past. If you've followed the Minimalists through their docs, podcast, website, etc some of this information might be familiar to you. However, this book goes deeper into the story of how they came to be who they (Millburn in particular) are. Love People, Use Things dives deep into the reasons WHY people accumulate stuff and encourages the reader to look within to see what they need to heal in their lives and relationships. This book is inspiring, and it's helpful. It lays out a clear path to embracing a minimalist lifestyle - not just with material objects, but an entire mentality of letting go of the little things that just don't matter and embracing what is truly important. Millburn talks theory with real world examples of the effects of this system, and Nicodemus closes each chapter with thought provoking questions to encourage the reader to undertake their own minimalist journey. I know I'll be having my very own packing party this weekend! Highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to simplify or add meaning to their life.
