I am mixed on this. On one note, I consider myself a beginner minimalist in that I am in the process of "getting rid of stuff." BUT, and that's a BIG BUT, I don't appreciate how this first impression implies that we all have hoards of junk we don't need and that behind our white picket fenced houses and garages our lives are filled with new cars, designer clothes, extravagant furnishings, and a mass of unnecessary clutter. For some of us, we've kept things out of necessity. "I might need this one day..." "I may be able to use this for..." etc. because we didn't have much and needed to be resourceful with whatever we did gain.

I'm not being defensive, just showing that there are many angles for someone wanting to minimalize their home, life, etc. and this book seems to show one angle--ABUNDANCE.
