While I appreciate the overall message of the book, gathered by plot summary and first look, it starts off in a way that could immediately be unrelatable to many readers. It starts with desire for more (which can be said for most, if not all), but the example is of a family that can buy a big house, expand for walk in closets, shop often at the mall, etc. Should they minimize? Yes. Does the option to get to that point exist for many people? No. I make good income, but live in a very expensive city, so I can’t personally relate. Others who live elsewhere with less income cannot personally relate. I think minimalist teaching should be shared in a way that reaches a wider audience.
