“You said ‘Hey’, and then you laughed, and my heart never beat the same after that. I never forgot the sound of it.”

This book was such a heartwarming read! The story centers around Will Sterling and Nora Clarke. The two first “met” when they were teenagers, but they were never formally introduced and the brief encounter only existed as a vivid memory Will carried with him as he tried to put the past behind him. Sixteen years later, they are reunited when Will inherits an apartment within the building Nora lives. As Will plans to quickly clear out and rent the “unit” so he can return to his life, he encounters Nora who is determined to stop his plans from interfering with the close-knit building. The two clash as they try to fulfill their personal wishes, but an undeniable connection begins to form.

I really enjoyed the characters in the book. I felt invested in their stories and was rooting for them. The love story has enough quirks to make it feel unique and different from other romances.

The story is about second chances and realizing that it’s not too late to change the way you feel, the way you work or the way you love. It’s about the family you create for yourself. About learning from your past but not letting it control your future.
