Kate Clayborn is fast becoming one of my favorite romance authors. LOVE AT FIRST uses the old tried-and-true love at first sight trope, but she manages to avoid what could be cliché by putting her own spin on the familiar and making it feel brand new.

Nora and Will’s story starts 20 years in the past when he first sees her and, consequently, falls in love with her while he’s visiting his estranged uncle. Fast forward to the present, Nora and Will are now grown adults when a twist of fate brings them together once again. Will finds himself the new owner of a rundown apartment in an equally rundown building that was left to him by none other than his estranged uncle. Nora just happens to be the building committee manager and they start clashing heads when Will wants to change his apartment and hopefully offload it. What follows is a fun and romantic tale with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.

Clayborn is such a master at creating such lovable characters that just make you feel good. Her stories aren’t just about humor though, as her characters are also dealing with emotions and heartbreak and personal problems which often get in the way of forming romantic relationships. The same holds true for Will and Nora. They’re both dealing with heartache and loss and it was such a joy watching them both work through that in order to finally come together.

Bottom line — LOVE AT FIRST is another winner from Kate Clayborn and I can’t recommend her books enough. Funny and fun, sad and emotional, they always deliver the best HEA’s.
