Summary- This book takes place in Emerson, Massachusetts. When a young woman is found dead in the nicest part of town, the powerful neighbors close ranks to keep their families safe. The death kicks off an investigation into the three teenagers who were partying with her that night, each a suspect. Hannah, a sweet girl with an unstable history. Jack, the popular kid with a mean streak. Christopher, an outsider desperate to fit in. Each of their parents have motivations of their own which only complicate the picture. Each will do anything to protect their children, even at the others’ expense.
The way that the author writes is very immersive. I felt like I was there with the characters. The emotions that they felt, I mirrored. I felt the tension and I felt the shock. This book is very easy to become acquainted with and it was easy to read. I always love a book that has multiple points of view. Overall, I was intrigued by both the story and the author. I can't say that I completely grasped everything in the book, so the ending wasn't my favorite.
