This book hooked me from the very first line. In general, I’m not a fan of animal deaths, but the dog seemed to be fine here so that made it a tad better. I am interested to see how the first chapter is connected to the story as a whole. The second chapter introduces the main plot of the story, which is about the murder of a young woman named Eden. I’m still interested in how the story pans out, but I’m not sure how invested I will be in the story considering how little I enjoyed the writing style. It seemed a little too tell-y to me, and I found myself wanting to skim most of this excerpt. Overall, the premise is intriguing, and I’m interested in seeing how this story pans out.
