I had to wait awhile after winning this book to start reading it. The world was still full of COVID effects, and I found this topic one I wanted to avoid when "distracting" myself with reading. Despite the fact that this book treats COVID as a lighter character than many recent pandemic themed books.

The cover is nice and draws the eye of the reader to further explore the storyline. The story itseld seema to have promise. I started and stopped this book several times. It's likely that my own life experiences impacted that decision, but the book itself did as well.

There was nothing that drew me to the characters. The writing was fine, but I thought this work lacked character development. I didn't care about the characters or what happened to them. The storyline was realistic, it just didn't draw me in, despite multiple attempts. Ultimately, this was a DNF for me.
