Lockdown on London Lane, the title tells you the premise. This was written at the beginning of the pandemic: a fictional apartment building in London featuring 5 different apartment dwellers. Fortunately, it's light, for the most part, and the characters are all different.

One couple has been married for a few years and now face being in their apartment together for a week, non-stop. This hasn't happened much before because they do much better when they have frequent “alone time.” Another couple is actually separated for the week because the woman was away visiting and came back only to find she was locked out for the week. That scenario takes place over mobile devices. The most intriguing one, I found, was from a woman's point of view who is ready to leave the apartment after a one-night stand when she discovers it's no-go. So she and the man whose name she didn't initially even remember stay in his apartment for the week.

A question that came to my mind was, how would I imagine the character interactions would play out under these circumstances. How would you?

Beth Reekless's novel is a fast read, shifting from one apartment to another in each chapter. All ends well, again in a lighter mood that any pandemic lockdown anywhere in the world would have.

I received a free electronic copy of the book from Wattpad Books via Bookish First. This is an honest review.
